Moment of Victory
After 430 years of bondage and slavery, the Israelites were finally liberated. It was a joyous moment that shook the Planet as they were matching out with songs of praise and testimonies in different fashion.All their thoughts were in one direction – Victory as last! The chains are broken, no more slavery, no more pains, no more beatings, enduring life is finally over, now it is time to enjoy.
In today’s language, such breakthrough could mean; A new job after 5 years of joblessness, a baby boy after 12 years of barrenness, marital restoration after 3 years of separation, promotion after 4 years of stagnation. House dedication after 11years of landlord molestation. It’s a time to climb the Alter and share testimony, time to buy new clothes for the thanksgiving service, and so on.
But they never knew what the devil (Pharaoh) was planning. Pharaoh said to himself, 'this is the best time to strike them unnoticed. They are very happy right now, their guards are down. They are presently carried away by their recent breakthrough. This is the time to kill, steal, and destroy them'. (3 fold mission of the devil).
As Christians, we need to be sensitive at all times, most especially at the sight of a breakthrough. Most of us tend to reduce our prayer life at such moment, some reduce their devotions and Bible study time, while some switch to attending Just Sunday service. We believe the battle is over, but we forget that the devil is never tired, he is always on the move.
John C Maxwell "what you did that brought you the success you are experiencing today can never sustain it. To sustain the success story, you must do better than yesterday" He added, "Always remember that yesterday ended last night, today is completely a new day"
So, you cannot afford to let your guard down as the devil is always on the move, he is never tired.
A senior brother of mine in my university days always tell us 'No matter how busy you think you are, you can never be as busy as the devil'.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour;
The devil had studied man over time and observed a common weakness in men. We tend to drop our guard moments after we experience an open door.
Pharaoh summoned his Chief of Army staff, and instructed him to assemble the best of their resources (human and weapons), and they began to pursue the Israelites.
The Egyptians caught up with them by the Red Sea. The Red Sea was at their front and host of Egyptian army was behind. It was a scenario the Israelites never prepared for, a moment they never anticipated.
Though they didn't see it coming, their God neither sleeps nor slumber. He sees the end from the beginning.
Pharaoh had in his mind to COMPLETELY FINISH them, but God’s plan was for Pharaoh and his host to be FINISHED COMPLETELY.
At the end, it was God’s plan that stood as expected.
May the enemy be forever put to shame over your issues in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain ever blessed!
